On a recent trip to Morocco, we were staying in a middle of the road hotel in Marrekech. The room was out of towels, so I went to find a maid that could give us one. When I found her, she was intrigued by me and we tried having a conversation although didn’t really understand eachother. She walked with me to my room, holding my hand and smiling at me. Compressions


I was making my rounds searching for newsworthy stories when the emergency door swung open. The dog lay on his back. The nurse stood over him performing compressions. There was a line next to her, maybe five more doctors and nurses.

As the nurse tired from performing CPR the next volunteer relieved her. She went through the line twice. When the owners came in for visiting hours later that night the nurse watched from a distance. People weren’t her thing.
