Exploring Swedenborg
Explorations of life and the afterlife with Emanuel Swedenborg (1688–1772), the most influential historical figure you’ve never heard of
Note from the editor

“It’s not about religion. It’s about love.” I stumbled on Swedenborg in 2015 in the OffTheLeftEye YouTube Channel and quickly dismissed it when I saw “Heaven and Hell.” hmmm… proselytizing? But something nudged me to watch an episode, and it was nothing like that. His insights were the first to make sense of a lifetime of religious confusion. Countless others agree. Swedenborg was a genius who lived in Stockholm Sweden from 1688 to 1772. He designed submarines and aircraft and wrote on topics of modern psychology. He was a mathematician, geologist, metallurgist, mineralogist, crystallographer, anatomist, botanist, chemist, physicist, cosmologist, astronomer, author, inventor, legislator, mining engineer, economist, editor, poet, and musician. Then at 56, he had a spiritual awakening that gave him direct access to spirit for 30 years. His insights fill 14,000 published pages plus 28,000 in manuscript. Largely unknown in modern times, his work strongly influenced many historical figures, including, among others, Emerson, Suzuki, Helen Keller, John Chapman, Carl Jung, Carnegie, and Elizabeth Browning. Way ahead of his time, I think his time has come. Visit offthelefteye.com for more!
