July’s Home Sweet Home Writing Prompt and More News…
The Winner of June’s Writing Prompt
The writing prompt for June was to share how your parents have influenced your own parenting. There were lots of wonderful entries and you can read them all here.
The entry that stood out the most was My Parents Ruled by Apathy by Nikki Kay. Please check out her beautifully written piece. It’s honest, vulnerable, and leaves the reader feeling inspired.
July’s Writing Prompt
This month’s challenge is to write a letter to yourself when you were a new parent. What advice would you give yourself? Would you tell yourself to do anything differently?
There is no word limit for this prompt. The only rules are:
- Tag your work with “prompt”
- It has to be in the form of a personal essay. HSH doesn’t accept poetry.
- Your work needs to be submitted by Friday 31st July at 12.00am GMT+1.
The winner will be announced in August’s newsletter.
