Trying to look all sultry and whatnot

Hello, hello! It’s been a while, but here I am to chat about the outfit you see in the photo above.👆🏼 I wore this the other night for my friend’s birthday celebration at The Barrow House. Happy birthday Alina! It was a work night, I was tired and feeling lazy— my outfit choice was almost going to be some really nice PJs (I could have totally gotten away with it, right?). I just have a hard time putting effort into my outfit choices when I’ve already had a long day — wahh! The night must go on! There is a birthday to celebrate! I knew that whatever I came up with, it had to be easy and comfortable. Also, I told myself, “let’s look like I give a sh!t about my appearance a little, shall we?” So, here you go!

“No, you don’t have to throw on tights — and PLEASE, this doesn’t call for you to channel your inner “gymnast” with some killer round off back hand springs.”

I’d like to highlight a very popular article of clothing featured in this outfit — the BODYSUIT! No, you don’t have to throw on tights — and PLEASE, this doesn’t call for you to channel your inner “gymnast” with some killer round off back hand springs. Bodysuits are impressive all on their own without the extra help! If you are unsure what a bodysuit is, then I’m unsure what you have been doing with your life thus far! LOL, jk guys! I don’t have many…wait is 8 considered a lot? WHATEVER…so far, all of mine come from American Apparel and Gypsy Warrior, and my collection continues to grow!

You don’t have to get to0 crazy with figuring out how to style an outfit around a bodysuit. Bodysuits are exactly just that — a suit that is fitted to your body. They are so comfortable, and there are many different varieties to choose from. For example, some have closures at the bottom near your no-no zone — a fun and handy feature when nature calls! While some don’t have closures at all, so you just pull them on (legs first). Sometimes a little awkward when you have to basically strip to go use the bathroom — totally worth it! Some have a low-cut back, while others have a racer-back and even still there are so many other styles/cuts! The possibilities are endless! Whichever style you like, rock it like the rock star you are!🤘🏼 In the future, I plan on showing off my other bodysuits and ways to style them — stay tuned!

Throwin’ elbows

So, let’s talk more about my outfit of the night, more commonly known as #ootn. This gray bodysuit is from American Apparel and it was my muse, if you will, for styling my outfit. What you can’t see is the racer-back bralette I’m wearing! This bodysuit also has a racer-back, so I just wore a bralette because it made me more comfortable! You could so go braless though, which is something I do a lot with body suits— own that shit! I love the look that came from this outfit. With that dark lip by Nyx, it’s edgy/laid back with a rockstar attitude! 💁🏽 The best part is, there’s not much to it!

These black, Free People jeans are awesome! They were actually the star in two other articles of mine, “What I Found at Find@Lord&Taylor” and “Stepping Into 2017 Like…”, so go check those out after you’re done here! It was unseasonably warm this particular night — 60 degrees in January in NJ?! No complaints! I’ve also mentioned before that I HATE wearing coats, so I was very thrilled to just throw on this denim jacket from Forever 21! Grab your favorite Sam Edelman booties before running out the door! Got these for a STEAL at Marshall's! I always lightly accessorize: stud earrings, small necklaces, the horse watch, and rings— keeps my whole “simple and classy” theme going!

I’m placing a lot of emphasis on the body suit because I feel that it is something a lot of people are starting to experiment with. It will surely soon become a closet staple (if not already), so grab ’em while they’re hot! You may find yourself styling an outfit around a bodysuit the next time you get ready to go out! Why not? They are flattering, and go with just about anything! How do you like to style your bodysuits? Are you new to the trend?
