Following the official announcement of our partnership with the European Communications Institute(1), we are releasing the roadmap for the upcoming months. An initiative concerning the importance of quality press, education and disinformation, in the case of Democracy and everyday life.

Academic Introversion

Starting January 2019, together with ECI, we are going to conduct a series of hands-on workshops with the FightHoax technology, as a tool, for the postgraduate professional journalists of the DISINFO-Lab(2), in the space of the National Technical University of Athens.

A sequence of group projects, supervised by the FightHoax team, are going to explore the media landscape of several hand-selected topics by the journalists of the class. At the same time, Valandis Zotos, our Head of Product, is going to lay out and teach the methodology that the postgraduate journalists have to use in order to produce fruitful media landscape results and identify false news content.

At the end of the academic workshop, the class will publish the results of their research, publicly on the Internet.

In late 2018, we are going to release a series of scientific white-papers, published in well respected academic publications, with the aim to examine the nature of disinformation, expose common practices, using FightHoax’s pattern identification technology, that false information articles use to scale and how journalists and companies can use the unique technology of FightHoax in order to prevent and identify potential harmful content and propaganda.

Public Extroversion

Concurrently, we are already leading a series of proposals to executive heads of the European Parliament, the European Commision and other several European authorities and entities, so that we can offer the FightHoax technology and our methodology as a tool to everyday citizens, of every European countries that suffer, especially to those that expect a critical elections period.

Ultimately, our actions together with the ECI consist of diverse openings to public events such as the latest at the European Parliament Office in Greece, in the context of the World Day of Freedom of the Press. At the heart of the workshop, the FightHoax team demonstrated the FightHoax Landscape Analysis solution to the public.

We truly believe that the synergy between the technological innovative solution of FightHoax, infused with the years-long journalistic expertise of the European Communications Institute, can form great beneficiary initiatives at an European level, for both public and private sector.
