Step up your Splash Damage in your Project with this Free Unreal FX Variety Pack
Today we are visiting the Unreal Marketplace again and checking out another free Effects Pack! There are more then a few really good ones that we have covered for Unity here.
We have covered several adjacent effects and style for Unreal like so, not actual video effects however so having a free pack to play around with is something our market peeks have definitely been missing.
This pack is totally free so the bar for entry is suitably and enjoyably low so lets dive right in.
The pack is current to the most up to date engine version and its hierarchy is solid, nothing out of place but not spectacular in its setup. It makes heavy use of epic assets but for these sorts of showcase maps that is not outside the norm and is easy to delete out of the project.
The pack comes with a wide array of particles that go into the amount or effects included, which there are a ton. They are a mix of slightly stylized and more realistic looking effects.
Also included are the Blueprints needed to place these in the world properly, attached them to actions, etc. In my estimation the Blueprints for the effects are as important as if not more than the particles themselves.
As a learning tool I cannot overstate the usefulness of pre-made blueprints inside of free packs. This is where you learn how these things get put together, they give you the fodder to help generate the questions you may not even know you have.
These blueprints show you the how so you can go and find the reason why they are built the way they are.
Now the particles themselves. They are pretty fantastic. They have difference color variations as well as type and style.
With some laser and ground effects, the pack has a very broad selection that are definitely useful. The nature of these effects and the general high quality of them makes this pack one that is definitely worth grabbing.
If you are working on a game that wants to have effects for combat abilities and more specifically magic, this pack is a must have for the price and the quality.
The Developer, Kakky has a lot of high quality and highly rated vfx packs that are worth checking out. If they are of the same level as this free pack then they are worth the cost.
