Postcards from Porvoo

This picturesque town cannot be described only in words. Let the photographs do some of the description.

Having spent a memorable rainy day in Lahti, and got over a not-so-memorable dining experience for what was an otherwise perfect anniversary, it was time for another adventure.

Even as we rushed through with the breakfast and got out of the historic hotel building, we were greeted by a beautiful sight. It was a bright, sunny day. It was one of those days that exhorts you to venture out and have a good time.

Without much ado, we headed underground, to Kamppi bus terminal in the centre of Helsinki. The lady at the ticket counter informed us that one bus had just left, and the next would depart in about half an hour. But as we neared the bay, we were in for a surprise. The bus was yet to leave.

The co-passenger of an elderly woman had gone to fetch something and was yet to return. The driver of the bus, himself an elderly man, had come out of the bus and was looking out, trying to help the woman. All the running around and shouting had left him exhausted, and when he returned to his seat, he was clearly gasping. As such, it took him a couple of minutes to get it back.
