Hack My Cancer
What happens when bioinformaticians get cancer
Note from the editor

I started Hack My Cancer as a blog back in 2013 when I was diagnosed with, and treated for, uveal melanoma — a rare cancer of the eye. It so happened that at the time I was working in the field of cancer genetics as a bioinformatician. Even with this background and training, I found the patient journey to be difficult and frightening. I started the blog to help shine a little light for patients facing cancer without a background in the science who must make sense of the barrage of information they suddenly find themselves receiving.
