Theme-up to change the world!

Think Different.

Those two words were intentional. They were to guide every decision Steve Jobs and Apple would make for nearly two decades. It was a simple mantra that guided their pursuit of excellence that would propel the company to be the most valuable in the world. Steve knew the power of having and sharing a theme. It was a rallying cry that would change the world, multiple times.

Want to do the same? Want to change the world? Then, theme-up!

Don’t copy. Don’t pick what someone else decides for you. Don’t settle and don’t rush it. But, do keep it simple. One, maybe two…three words, tops.

Dig deep into your spirit. What is the common thread that drives your thinking, your work, your passions, your priorities?

Your theme should just feel right in your gut. Every fiber of your being will recognize and embrace it. It will feed your mission.

Mine is Equip. That one word has to be at the forefront of all I do. I know what it means for me, but for the benefit of the reader, I’ll add a bit…

Equip and empower. Okay, maybe a bit more just as “Think Different” in and of itself is inadequate for the outsider to understand. So…

Equip and empower my fellow humankind with the best tools and training for their personal and occupational success.

Now, it’s not just a theme but a personal mission statement.

What is your theme? And, how does it drive your mission to change the world? Please share in the comments below. Thanks.
