Through the generous support of the Posner Foundation of Pittsburgh, Hello Neighbor gifted $25,000 to seven US-based nonprofits to support capacity-building and programming around Ukrainian arrivals. Read below to learn how Network Members harnessed these funds to create lasting impact.

ECHO Collective (Lincoln, NE)

ECHO Collective welcomed three women into their Ukrainian Yarn Circle. For two hours each week, the women join staff and volunteers to build community and create knit crafts.

Neighbor to Neighbor (South Bend, IN)

Neighbor to Neighbor used funds to help purchase a driving simulator. The simulator will be a valuable tool to Ukrainians, Afghans, and other new neighbors learning to drive.

New Neighbors Partnership (New York, NY)

New Neighbors Partnership allocated funds to the salaries of two new case managers, both of whom connect local families to Ukrainian arrivals, facilitating in-kind donations of clothing, toys, and books.

Orange County Jewish Coalition for Refugees (Santa Ana, CA)

Orange County Jewish Coalition for Refugees funded additional work time for their Executive Director (their sole paid staff member). The director used these hours to provide services, referrals, and material support to Ukrainians, including via the organization of five Welcome Circles.

Treetops Collective (Grand Rapids, MI)

Treetops Collective established a Ukrainian women’s group and hired a recently-arrived Ukrainian woman to lead and support others as they work toward their goals.

Ruth’s Refuge (Brooklyn, NY)

Ruth’s Refuge supplemented their storage space and purchased beds, bedding, and kitchen supplies for new Ukrainian arrivals.

Valley Neighbors (Kalispell, MT)

Valley Neighbors provided utility and deposit payments to new Ukrainian neighbors. They also developed the Library Voucher Program, offering financial incentives to families who utilized the library.

Thank you to the Posner Foundation of Pittsburgh for funding this work, and to our Network Members for their impactful commitment and dedication.
