Apart from the Awesome song By Westlife –Typical Boy bands, soft voices, cool styles, and a bunch of ladies falling head over heels. Have always known the best songs to be simple relatable stories. Wonder why?
I believe the most powerful ability of the mind is “Imagination.” Thus, the reason why many get so stimulated by stories. Imagination brings reality to simple words. –The razor’s edge between genius and a guy on top-grade shrooms.
But have you ever thought of the title from a different perspective, other than the Romeo and Juliet version? The one we hear, when falling in love or dumped. Hey, nice guys finish last — “I thought we were just FRIENDS”. It’s okay we’ve all been there.
Let me tell you another version, one that will explain the resistance cause of most failures and regrets. We all don’t want to reach that place, where we are granted a full life and the only thing we can say is, “I wish I could… and Only if…”
One thing is for sure, count yourself lucky to be alive, not sick, capable of using your mind. We take the ability to think and make rational decisions for granted. The funny part is that most people prefer not to think. Not to use the most important element to their existence their mind. Quick question, what happens to a new car that is not driven? or a garden that is not cultivated? –Yeah it breaks down.
Things not used, become useless and what is useless is disposable. We all understand this simple concept in other things, like taking out the trash. But fail to realize it in matters of the mind.
We are influenced by many things some of them we don’t realize, and we don’t pay attention. No wonder we pay for it heavily with horrible depressed, poverty-stricken lives. We watch, read, or hear anything from the news, Instagram, TV, or radio the buzz is everywhere. The media tells us what to do. how to live? What is best for us? Guess what? 90 percent obey without question. Everyone claims to know what’s best for us according to their opinions of who they see and remember us to be. If you were to go to your hometown, your neighbors would always remember you as the shy, timid, smart, funny, or even broke person you were 7 years ago. Everyone thinks they know us but, they don’t, they only saw a glimpse of what we showed them. What they perceived to see of us. The truth is, only we know what’s best for us and what we need and want.
The better we talk about control of what enters our mind, taking an introspection of what we want for us, the better our lives will be. It’s time we start living our own lives, not the ones dictated by our teachers, friends, family, or society.
Most of the time the best advice is the one you give yourself, so pay attention.
