Dear Lympo community,

It’s been quite a week in the crypto space, that’s for sure. But regardless of whether you’re bullish or bearish for the upcoming weeks and months, one thing is for certain: Lympo continues to be extremely committed to delivering the best possible product with great partners and athletes.

You’ll have noticed that we haven’t announced much news last week, but that’s because we’ve been working hard on some great developments that we hope to share with all of you in the near future.

Let’s look back at last week.

Last week’s recap

Athlete announcement

Paris Saint-Germain Star Colin Dagba tackles his way into the Lympo Athlete NFT Pool! ⚽ As one of the main defenders of the club, he’s nothing short of a sensational soccer player and a fantastic addition to the Lympo family.

“I’m thrilled to start this partnership with Lympo alongside other great athletes and even more excited about what’s coming next.”

Check out his career and why he joined Lympo in the announcement article here.

Antoine Dupont wins prestigious award

Congratulations to Lympo Athlete Antoine Dupont on winning the prestigious EPCR European Player of the Year award! 🏉

We’re really proud that Antoine is part of the Lympo family, and his NFTs will soon be available to be minted from the Lympo Athletes NFT pool.

First Legendary NFTs minted

On Tuesday last week, Lympo’s very first Legendary NFT was minted on the platform, and it’s Tony G’s! 🃏 Considering one of his most iconic poker phrases, the “On Your Bike” NFT is definitely a special one.

And you know what’s crazy? Already 8 Legendary NFTs were minted less than 3 days later! 🙌 Here’s what’s gone by now:

  • All 5 of Tony G’s “On Your Bike” Legendary NFTs
  • Darya Klishina’s first “Big Whale” Legendary NFT
  • Alexandra Trusova’s first “It Was Worth It All” Legendary NFT

So only 4 of those “Big Whale” and “It Was Worth It All” Legendary NFTs remain available to mint on the platform! 🔥

Interested in their other NFTs? Revisit Tony G’s, Darya Klishina’s and Alexandra Trusova’s announcement articles that were published in March and April. Oh, and be sure to turn on your sound when you check out Tony G’s NFTs 😉

Take a look at all the other currently available NFTs on Lympo’s NFT platform, with many more to come.

Behind the scenes

In last week’s article, we mentioned that nothing would be possible without the people that make it all happen, which is why we’re going to introduce Lympo’s team members one by one over the next few weeks.

The first person we’d like to put in the spotlight is the man who’s signing up all these amazing athletes: Lympo’s Chief Partnership Officer Vilius Jastremskas. Let’s get to know him a little bit, shall we?

Who is Vilius Jastremskas?

I lived in London for the last 9 years and recently moved back to my home country — Lithuania. During my time in London, I finished my Bachelor’s degree and started studying for an MSc in Marketing at one of London’s prestigious universities — King’s College. Throughout those 9 years abroad, I’ve worked in many different industries and took on many different roles — from being a basketball coach or nightclub security guard during my student years, all the way to senior management roles in the retail, sports and construction industries. Even though the roles and responsibilities throughout those years were all very different, they all taught me how to learn as much as you can from each given opportunity.

My current role at LYMPO is Chief Partnership Officer and I’m excited that — each day — I can network with athletes and their agents from different sports categories and share LYMPO’s and Animoca Brands' vision about this new NFT space.

When and why did you join the Lympo team?

I joined LYMPO in early February 2021, once the company turned all of its focus towards developing this ambitious NFT project. They needed someone to expand their partnerships, so Tadas — one of LYMPO’s co-founders — reached out to me. Tadas and I had met each other a few years ago for other business purposes.

I’ve joined LYMPO because I really liked the idea and role that was offered. Tadas seemed extremely passionate and it was difficult to neglect his abundant love for this project. Also, the timing was perfect as I just relocated from London and didn’t have any huge work commitments. Even though my understanding of the blockchain industry was limited at that time, I knew that I would be able to adapt quickly. I’m also an extroverted person and I love to socialize and network with people, which is what this role is all about!

What are you most excited about when it comes to Lympo’s potential?

I love projects that are focused on a long-term vision and rigorously work to deliver on that vision instead of trying to create a quick cash cow like many NFT businesses do right now. I’m so excited to see LYMPO's idea of providing utility to the NFTs throughout various games and creating this global ecosystem with the support and distribution network that Animoca Brands holds. I was never aware of how many billions gamers spend each year on something that they don’t actually own. Blockchain and NFTs will offer them an opportunity to actually own their assets and utilize them throughout different games. It will take years for mainstream adoption to happen, but I’m sure that — one day — the blockchain gaming space will be more valuable than the non-blockchain gaming industry.

What’s a typical day at work for you?

Spreading LYMPO’s vision to everyone around the world! To be honest, it’s a pity that it’s very difficult to travel and socialize with people face to face due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, my typical day-to-day now includes a lot of (virtual) meetings with different organizations, IP right holders and athletes, to who I’m trying to explain what blockchain is all about, what the added value and benefits of NFTs are, and what LYMPO is trying to achieve. Even though there was a lot of PR from NBA Top Shot and some expensive NFTs that were sold in the space, this market is still relatively new and many people don’t yet understand its potential. Hence, it takes time to educate people about this exciting space and present the opportunities that LYMPO offers. If we receive interest from another party, then the goal is to obviously close the deal with the best conditions for LYMPO.

Which partnership are you most proud of so far?

I cannot disclose my best partnerships for now, as they are not yet publicly announced. 😉 However, each partnership that Matt and I sign is unique and we are proud of each of them!

If you were to choose 1 NFT to mint right now, whose would it be?

If we’re talking about the LYMPO Athlete pool, then that would be Rose’s. I really love to see how she fights and I am convinced that the future is very bright for her, as well as for her NFTs. Obviously, I would love to mint a Lebron James NFT, so hopefully — one day — he will be on the LYMPO platform too.

Any other things you can share concerning the near future? Maybe a hint about an upcoming partnership?

Unfortunately, I cannot disclose anything until it’s made public. However, I can promise one thing: the most exciting stuff is yet to come 😉

Looking ahead

It looks like — according to Vilius — Lympo has some interesting partnerships up their sleeve. 🏋️‍♀️

Let’s hope that the market finds some stability in the next few weeks. But regardless of the current market dynamics, the Lympo team is working around the clock to deliver on what was promised.
