a lab rat

in the course of this rambling
i find myself always where i started
the same place, almost the same time
only probably ten or fifteen years later
i can see myself growing even older
than that 
being an unfortunate rat
in a sort of laboratory
being studied and tested for
to find a cure for pernicious anemia…
