Mustachio Quest Updates #4: Closed Testing with Genesis Holders

As the development of our play-to-earn NFT game continues to progress, we will conduct a closed test together with our Genesis holders. The test involved exploration of different areas, multiple interactions with NPCs, and many other simple trials using the Mustachios inside our 3D open-world metaverse through the completion of the first-ever Mustachio Quest.

Closed Test through a Sample Quest

The quest is straightforward and similar to a demo released by a game under development. It’s also short but adequate to gauge the necessary improvements as well as the integration of our second and third updates.

The game already allows Mustachios to explore different maps including Desert, Forge, Dungeon, and Forest Gameplay. However, the first quest only involved three locations namely a maze, a forest, and a cave. The logic behind this is simple, we just want to give the Genesis holders a taste of the game and at the same allow them to give us the feedback and suggestions that will benefit its development.

Note: You need to complete the quest in one go to get rewards because progress won’t be saved during the closed test.

Walkthrough

For those hesitating to try the quest, we got you. The following is a rundown of the scenes, activities, and tasks you need to do to complete the quest. Everything is quite easy, but if you’re stuck, the walkthrough can help you.

First location: Maze

At the initial location, the player gets to know how to do basic moves such as walking, jumping, changing view, picking up, and dropping an item. Inside the maze, the player will find a fragment of an artifact called The Shears of Space. This item needs to be in your inventory because it is the requirement to get out of the maze.

Second Location: Forest

From the maze, the player then enters the forest. To move forward with the quest, you need to interact with a villager. The villager will then tell you about the “rumors of a magical scissor” and ask you to put the fragments together for a handsome reward. After that, he’ll give you a clue about another villager who owns the other fragment.

The second villager you need to find is an old man who can’t walk and is very hungry. He says that he has the other fragment. However, he will only give it to you on one condition, you need to give him 5 apples. You will then explore the forest to find and collect 5 apples. After which, you’ll give it to the second villager and he will give you a fragment as well as the clue that the 3rd fragment is inside a cave.

Your last task inside the forest is to open the cave. In order to do this, you need to find two platforms that are located near each other. First you need to put five crystals on the platform on the right, then put five rocks on the left. Order is important here as the platform on the right activates the left one. When you’ve successfully done both, the cave entrance will open for you.

Final Location: Cave

The final location is the cave where you will find the last fragment. Upon getting the fragment and putting them all together, the Shears of Space magically cuts the space. A portal will appear and it will lead you back to the first villager.

The villager will be in awe of the power of The Shears of Space to open portals. He will keep his promise and will reward you with a private key that holds $OWN tokens.

The quest basically ends there — with you getting OWN tokens and the discovery of The Shears of Space as a way to open portals to new places in the MustachioVerse.
