Go talk to an adult — any adult — in your life. It can be your mom, the cashier at the corner store, a teacher. Talk about something that’s important to them: how they came to the United States; #blacklivesmatter; what it was like when they were 18 compared to how it is today; incarceration. You pick the topic.
Record it on your smartphone and transcribe it into either a Q&A or an “as told to,” a summary of the most important points, in their voice. You can switch around the order of the quotes, but don’t change them.
