The DAO’s primary objective is to benefit holders through strategic investments that expand the DAO portfolio. The Swarm is not only a DAO within IDO Pass DAO but also a community-driven alpha group building well-analyzed investment insights through high-quality proposals.
Functionality:
- Voting System: The Swarm employs governance by way of a voting mechanism. The process occurs on Discord utilizing the Bad Fox Motorcycle Club tool for voting based on NFT holder weight. The DAO is actively monitoring the development of on-chain DAO management tools on Cardano for a more holistic solution to governance, treasury management, and project bounties. Each Founders pass NFT has a 5 times weight over Members pass NFTs.
- Dual Wallets: Swarm maintains a two-wallet strategy for treasury wallets, like the commonly used cold wallet and hot wallet method. The multi-signature wallet is used for long-term bulk storage and enhanced asset security, with keys shared between the team and community. The second wallet, or hot wallet, is managed by Co-Founder “ImScaryTerry” and is intended to facilitate more expedited action.
Evolving Governance:
- “Bad Keys” Tool: The Bad Fox Motorcycle Club’s “Bad Keys” tool streamlines voting by allowing Cardano wallet linkage for voting based on NFT weight (Founders 5x, Members 1x).
- Inclusive Proposals: All community members can propose ideas, which must include project/asset names, exit strategies (including stop loss), purchase amounts, investment rationales, and project links.
- More Tools to Come: The founding team, community, and project ambassadors continue to evaluate tools to better facilitate on-chain DAO management.
Fund Management:
- Community Ownership: Funds held in the Swarm Treasury wallets belong to the community and require a democratic decision-making process to conduct transactions or the management of investments.
- Allocation of Funds: Any profits made by the Swarm are split between the Swarm Treasury and the IDO Pass DAO wallet. This maintains DAO operations and fund the development of DAO initiatives.
