Tiny Warship 12 — Fox Corvette

This post also has a note on why I changed the current funding goal on my Ko-fi account, should that part interest you. But first let’s check on yet another ship that is already on its third iteration on this place — the legendary Fox-class corvette.

Among the very first new warships developed by the Inner Sphere powers after the Succession Wars, the Fox is a little package of top of the line technology and revolutionary changes in doctrine. Being quite small for a warship, it is nevertheless capable of holding several dropships in its docking rings and boasts armor akin to much larger vessels. Although relatively lightly armed, the Fox does incorporate a good amount of missile tubes in its underside, allowing it to launch volleys of warheads from afar.

Thus, the Fox is perfect to lead small raiding or scouting parties, and only often would it escort larger ships.

Built in large numbers, these vessels would serve both the Federated Suns and the Lyran Commonwealth for centuries to come, being one of the most common warships in the Inner Sphere. The model is even simpler than the last one, using only 8 parts plus the base. It should make for a good light ship, even smaller than escorts and functionally not different from dropship squadrons.

As some people may have noticed, I made some changes to my Ko-fi account, more specifically on the funding goal. I didn’t change the fundamentals — it I get x people to help me out I’ll make a campaign module for MechWarrior Destiny, which is an amazing role-playing game. However, I did change the details.

Originally I had the goal set for a module based on the classic anime Fang of the Sun Dougram. However, the more I thought about it the more I questioned myself if that was what I wanted to do. At the same time I took some notes about the silly idea of using the videogame MechWarrior 4 as the basis for an RPG adventure. As it grew on me, I realized I could do it and do it well.

However, I do not have currently the time or the money to do it properly — in order to do so I would have to set aside other things that help me pay the bills. So, it is something that under normal circumstances would have to wait a bit. But if enough people show interest, I would put in the time to do it in as expeditiously as I could.

So, let me know if you would like that and give me a tip if you really want me to go to work on such a thing ASAP. Thank you so much for supporting my Lego-based endeavours anyhow and feel free to leave a comment and come by at any time. See you all really soon!
