Battle Racers Update (June 2019)
Welcome to our Battle Racers Update! In these monthly updates, we’ll share with you the status of the game and how development is going. In this June update, you’ll get to see our work in progress for the build, progress on our item pre-sale, and a recap of press coverage so far.
Build update: Leaderboards and practice car customization
Since our last update, the team has been working on the feedback we got from our first Closed Multiplayer Beta. We added leaderboards, made races last longer, and added information tooltips to our Garage, as well as numerous other tweaks and bug fixes. To coincide with the last week of our item pre-sale, Battle Racers just started its second Closed Multiplayer Beta; beta testers will be able to play the new features above.
We also included a temporary feature in the build that lets players customize a Practice Car using parts obtained from their own crates, stored in their own wallets. While real car customization on our website hasn’t been developed yet, this preview gives beta testers the chance to mix and match parts that they bought from our item pre-sale. You can read more about the second beta here.
Item pre-sale update: 550 total ETH raised so far, ends June 20
Our item pre-sale launched on May 21, 10:00 a.m. EDT. The first 24 hours were a roller coaster, with 213 ETH raised and a slew of technical issues with crate opening. Thanks to our hardworking technical team (a joint effort of Altitude Games and Alto.io), plus the support of our Discord community, we have now sold over 550 total ETH worth of crates.
This also included an Axie Infinity crate sale, where we sold 150 crates of special Axie-branded cars exclusive to current Axie owners. The Axie crate sale went live on June 7, 10:00 a.m. EDT, and sold out in seven minutes!
Our item pre-sale ends this Thursday, June 20, 10:00 a.m. EDT. To celebrate, we are increasing the chance to find Legendary car parts in all crates by 50% (no matter when they were bought ) from June 17 to 20. Read more about this week’s events here.

What’s next: Parts trading
While the original design for the game had cars (not parts) tradeable on the main Ethereum network, parts trading was the #1 request from our community during the item pre-sale. There is already an active discussion in our #marketplace channel for players who are making handshake agreements on future parts. Community developers have created bots to help players manage and compare parts in their inventory.
We are looking at using OpenSea for this feature, and have hired an additional game engineer to make this happen. There is no set date for it yet, but we will update everyone on both Medium and Discord once we have more information.
Lastly, Gabby Dizon (Alto) and Luna Javier (Altitude Games) will be speaking about Battle Racers at Blockchain Gamer Connects in Hong Kong this July 17–18. Find out more in this Speaker Spotlight.
Remember, our item pre-sale ends on Thursday, June 20, 10:00 a.m. EDT (GMT-4), 7:00 a.m. PDT (GMT-7), and 4:00 p.m. CET (GMT+2). Be sure to open your crates this week to get the Legendary bonus.
