The Interchain Foundation announced the release of Interchain Accounts, the biggest upgrade to Cosmos since Stargate protocols, which will enable nearly all aspects of data-sharing between blockchain protocols.
Fetch.ai joins Cosmos #IBCGang is the 38th family member. Fetch_ai, an AI and machine learning based blockchain platform populated with your intelligent digital twins who learn & deliver solutions to make your life easier. Consistency is attractive!
Umee is officially live and deployed on Umee mainnet. It is a base layer blockchain that interconnects between blockchains. This will allow applications and money lego primitives to be built on top of Umee to access cross chain leverage and liquidity.
Emeris, Tendermint‘s cross-chain crypto app store, announced that it will launch a new product that will revolutionize airdrops. Called Airdrops Tracker, the product will act as a one-stop-shop for airdrops, enabling users to view and claim airdrops on all compatible chains.
As for the Cosmos ecosystem news: BNB and its networks Binance Chain and Binance Smart Chain form the new BNB Chain ecosystem built around this outstanding utility token. The re-branding of Crypto.org Coin (CRO) to Cronos (CRO) has been announced. The rebrand reflects the decentralization of the coin and tremendous growth of Cronos ecosystem. Also, Crypto.com NFT now supports Ethereum-Based NFTs. The Terra Community Trust (TCT) has entered a 5-year, $38.15M partnership with the Washington Nationals MLB franchise. The Injective testnet processed the first CW20 token transfer using CosmWasm smart contracts. Polygon raised about $450 million through a private sale of its native MATIC token in a funding round led by Sequoia Capital India. BandChain has recently experienced high growth in usage from partnering DApps such as Mirror Protocol and Injective, resulting in requests reaching up to 80% of block capacity. To accommodate this growth in usage, the team proposed BCIP-6. New partnership with Celer cBridge enables asset bridging on the Oasis Network. In Persistence’s latest blog release, its founder sheds light on the past two years of Persistence’s journey and shares the goals for 2022. Blackbox launches on Secret Network, bringing privacy-preserving wallet seeding and transaction anonymity tools for users. Kadena Eco, a new initiative designed to bring together the biggest thinkers in the industry, top-tier tech talent, and unparalleled strategic capital to fuel Kadena_io’s ecosystem hypergrowth, has been announced. The Kava team introduced the Kava Network, a lightning-fast Layer-1 blockchain featuring a unique co-chain architecture that combines the speed and interoperability of the Cosmos SDK with the flexibility and developer support of the EVM. Alpha Release — March 8, 2022. Oracle announced the US Department of Defense (DoD) has authorized Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to host Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information(TS/SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) missions. Also, Vodafone UK taps Oracle tech to support the 5G network core. Agoric shared the CoinList recap of last month’s BLD public sale. Akash Testnet 3 is coming. The Ethereum to BitSong bridge is now live. Gaming platform Frontera partners with e-Money in the quest to expand in European markets. Idena partners with Amasa, a platform aimed to help people improve their financial position by amplifying the value of web3 income streams. Beyond the names you may already know, like Secret Network, Terra, Cosmos Hub, or Osmosis, there’s a whole lot more to come in H1, 2022. Many up-and-coming projects are running testnets and incentivized testnets that will precede their debuts to mainnet this year.
In this article, the team takes a brief look at the role of testnets, highlights some of the most successful incentivized testnets in Cosmos history, and shares the hottest new projects to look out for over the coming months.

The Interchain Foundation, a nonprofit steward of the Cosmos ecosystem, announced the release of Interchain Accounts.
The Inter-Blockchain Communications protocol (IBC) enables an entire blockchain to control an account on a separate chain. It is the largest software upgrade to the Cosmos ecosystem since Stargate. To date, there are 38 projects utilizing IBC, including Terra, Crypto.org Chain and Gravity Bridge, with 8.4 million transactions in the past 38 days.
With Interchain Accounts, one blockchain can access the application features of another blockchain, such as staking, voting, swapping tokens, etc. “Enabling composability in IBC allows innovation in distinct applications to be deployed without needing to upgrade the entire Interchain,” said Charleen Fei, IBC product lead at the Interchain Foundation.
