  • With three days to go in the current parachain slot auction, Equilibrium has been in the lead during the entire Ending Period.
  • Polkadot’s XCMv3 is ready for review and security audit.
  • Referendum 53 has already passed. The community voted for upgrading the Polkadot relay chain and Statemint to runtime v9170.
  • Polkadot’s parachain auction schedule has been decided for the rest of the year after Motion 158 was passed. Find the new schedule here.
  • You can try it now by selecting your RPC endpoint as “light client (experimental)” in the Polkadot-JS App.
  • With the enactment of Referendum 176, the minimum commission of any validator below 3% could be raised to 3%. This was done in a recent batch call here, at the beginning of era 3438. Since this call occurred after era 3438 started, the call will take effect in era 3439. This call affected 413 validators.
  • Motion 442, proposing a Council-backed referendum to increase the number of HRMP channels from 10 to 30, has passed.
  • Referendum 179, proposing to deregister parathread ID 2013 (SherpaX), is passing with a wide margin with 4 days left to vote.

  • The knowledge base for Cardano is growing: Cardano Stack Exchange graduates from Beta version: A fresh Q&A site will facilitate knowledge-sharing for all Cardano related topics
  • In a recent vlog, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson revealed his latest plans for the network’s growth in 2022. Among the updates, Hoskinson discussed the possibility of incorporating Polyglot, a programming language that supports Javascript and Python, as well as the release of “Mamba”, a cross-chain bridge that would come into effect later this month or April this year.
  • IOHK unveiled a new update for its Cardano wallet, Daedalus. Its new version 4.9.0 will now be operating on Cardano Node 133, which considerably boosts its synchronization occasions and reminiscence utilization.

  • Tendermint, the company that launched the blockchain-interoperability protocol Cosmos, announced it is rebranding to “Ignite.” Ignite CEO Peng Zhong said that the rebranding doesn’t involve major changes to the firm’s roadmap or leadership. Instead, the brand refresh is meant to symbolize a pivot to “a product-first focus,” with the name “Ignite” bringing to mind “the initiation of change and action.” Tendermint’s prior focus was on developing back-end Cosmos infrastructure.
  • Osmosis Superfluid Staking is here: As a reminder, superfluid staking allows Osmosis liquidity providers to stake the OSMO in their LP shares (GAMM). Because superfluid staking adds to the security of the chain, superfluid positions also earn staking rewards on top of the usual fees and liquidity mining incentives.

  • Announcing Incentivized Testnet 3: This two-week-long testnet is designed for developers, crypto enthusiasts, and anyone looking to participate in the decentralized web. It allows users to stress-test recently released features focused on real-world applications, like deploying validators and nodes, running high-resource workloads, and expanding applications for the mining community. With a prize pot of $200,000 in USD, Testnet 3 is launching on March 7th at 10 am PST and running through March 20th at 11:59 pm PST.
