With every new technology comes the issue of adoption, and the same can be said for Perlin’s Wavelet. Even with a low learning curve (WASM support) and high scalability (over ~30k TPS), Perlin’s technology would not gain traction without a strong distribution channel.

We’re glad to say that we have laid the foundation successfully for wide-spread adoption over the course of 2019, and will be able to focus on building upon the foundation in 2020.

Under the partnership with the International Chamber of Commerce, Perlin had access to ICC’s 45 million members and had since made significant achievements with opportunities created by this partnership.

Community Plan

While the development team is still working during the holiday period, there had been a slow down in business developments as it was the holiday period. Due to the lack of news-worthy material that we can publish, there was a lack of social activities on our social channels such as Medium, Twitter and Telegram.

However, we have received numerous feedback from the community that this needs to be improved, and we will improve it starting with the following commitments.

  1. More direct communication with core team members and monthly AMA
From the feedback that we’ve received, there was a clear want for direct communication with the core team members. To enable this, we are committing to monthly AMA where the community members can interact with us with all the questions they have.
Submit your questions for the next AMA here.
  2. Biweekly /Monthly update of business developments and technical developments
From the feedback that we’ve received, the lack of activity and updates on social channels and GitHub the last month was troubling and worrying. Going forward, we will be posting a biweekly/monthly update to inform the community of the work done whenever possible.
Do note that while this is a commitment to update the community as frequently as possible, and are not able to disclose information bounded under non-disclosure agreement(NDA).
  3. Improve communication on technical deliverables
The testnet v0.3 was delayed, and there was no clear communication with the community regarding this. We are aware that this is not acceptable and will work on improving this, starting from the next community&technical update.

While the technical update will be delivered by Kenta, here’s a sneak peek into the coming technical update for you :)

Kenta:
I’ll address clearly on what has been going on with testnet in a blog post — we hit a breakthrough that we’ve been developing out since the new consensus protocol Himitsu has already shown very promising results.
We hope to get the post out in the next few weeks, can’t wait to share the numerous breakthroughs we’ve hit with you all :).
We are still on schedule, though the mainnet will differ from solely being a Wavelet release.
Wavelet will remain, though the underlying consensus protocol will be renamed to Himitsu.
The change is because of a large number of benefits we managed to achieve in simplifying the protocol

That’s all I can say for now! And I believe that the news in the upcoming weeks will be proof that we’ve been working even though we were quiet; our actions in the coming period will be proof that we mean what we say when we make a promise.

Provide more feedback here.

Submit the questions for the coming AMA.

Say hi! and keep up with our developments on:
