1. Kusama parachain auctions & crowdloans
Khala Network won the 4th slot with 132,280 KSM bid, and it is now officially the 4th commercial parachain on Kusama! What’s next? Read here.
The last auction of the first wave will end next week. Bifrost is now dominating with 132k+ KSM in contributions, while Basilisk that recently burst into the race now holds the second and very close to Bifrost position with its 115k+ KSM. It seems that one if these projects will become the next parachain, so let’s wait and welcome the winner!

Bifrost has launched a gradient leading reward strategy, with rewards up to 250%. When Bifrost is the first candidate in the Auction and is ahead of the second candidate by a certain KSM amount, all contributors can receive additional bonuses. See the table here.
The address that achieves the leading goal will become the Asgard hero. When Bifrost loses leading, the leading goal will fall back, and the Asgard hero will be reset. The Asgard hero who remains after the auction will receive additional BNC rewards. Dashboard.

Web3 Foundation
Web3 Foundation is celebrating its 10th round of grants accepted through its Open and General Grants programs. With 27 new grant agreements signed in the second quarter of 2021, they are now nearing close to 300 grantees since the beginning of the Foundation’s grants program in 2019.

- Astar Network received a new Web3 Open Grant to implement a Zk Plonk pallet. The ZK Plonk is originally created by Aztec. Implemented by Astar, the plonk will be a core technology in terms of scaling and privacy solutions.
- Astar Network joined the Crypto Climate Accord — an initiative to decarbonize crypto by powering blockchain with 100% renewable energy.

Litentry
- Litentry released the Technical Architecture of the Litentry Protocol that is the Part II of Developing a DID Aggregator on Blockchain article.
The Litentry Network provides privacy-first, decentralized identity aggregation computing services. Litentry Network abstracts away the complexity of the blockchain consensus layer and undertakes the calculation of the format-agnostic DID data for multi-network identity aggregation. The identity aggregation layer enables decentralized applications to get trustless identity-related & credit-related data. To get a better understanding of why aggregated identity is needed, please refer to the Part Ⅰ of this article.
Through this cooperation, the two parties will jointly explore more possibilities in the adoption of Decentralized Identity (DID) in DeFi and cross-chain markets.
Acala & Karura
- Crowdloan rewards (KAR) have been distributed, here’s a guide on how to check rewards on Karura Network chain and how to claim KAR (if you participated in Karura crowdloan from channels other than the officially supported ones. If you participated via exchanges, all exchange rewards have been distributed to them, so please contact them directly.

- Referendums to disable SUDO and enable KAR transfer on Karura Network passed, most of the community voted “Aye”. The next step is DEX!
Zenlink
The two parties will cooperate on the DeFi application on Polkadot Layer 2 and cross-chain asset transactions between parachains.
SubQuery Network
The SubQuery Network accepts applications for its new Ambassador program. SubQuery Ambassadors are able to contribute through event management, content creation, translation, and community moderation. Ambassadors are expected to commit some time when joining the SubQuery team but will be rewarded with benefits.
Moonbeam & Moonriver
Kusama brings chaos as promised. On 9th of July Moonriver experienced a stall after performing a runtime upgrade to allow third-party collators to join the active set. A technical analysis of what happened, what is the bug, and what all parachain teams needs to be aware of in this thread.
Interlay
Interlay announced its seed capital raise of USD 3.04mm.
The seed funding round was led by IOSG Ventures, Blockchain.com, Launchub Ventures, CMS Holdings, KR1, Hypersphere, Zeeprime and angels as other major participants.
ZentaChain
PolkadotJs wallet has been added successfully also to the Zentachain Trade-Hub.
Dora Factory
Dora Factory successfully built MolochDAO v2 pallet on Substrate. The new open source pallet can be used by any Substrate chain, parachain, or a relaychain to implement MolochDAO v2 for grant DAO or venture DAO purposes.
