Each day Helena Cobban (possibly with some collaborators at some point) will look at seminal events of one year of world history, from 1520 CE until the present,with periodic musings on what it all means. The project launched on January 1, 2021. Its prime focus is to examine the emergence and lengthy record of “Western” hegemony of the world system.
