Citizen Comes to Protect the City of Angels
Los Angeles is now a part of the Citizen safety network
Have you ever heard police sirens nearby only to wonder where the police are going? Have you ever seen a fire truck race past in traffic, but had no idea what the emergency was? Have you ever had a helicopter circling above your home and wondered what was happening in your neighborhood? And has there ever been an armed suspect near your place of work, with little or no immediate information to inform your safety?
No longer will you be left in the dark.
Earlier this morning, the Citizen safety network expanded to Los Angeles, CA, helping people stay safe and informed about the world around them.
Citizen’s technology keeps everyday people informed with real-time notifications about nearby crime and emergencies. This information — available on a free mobile application for anyone to use — enables users to make smart, thoughtful decisions about their safety in ways not previously possible.
The mission of Citizen is to ‘Protect the World’.
With Los Angeles now part of the Citizen safety network, Los Angeles users can access geolocated safety information about what’s happening around them, in real-time. Real-time alerts from Citizen recently alerted a user to a fire in his own building, helped find an abducted 4-year-old lost in New York City, and provided immediate information at a shooting near San Francisco State University.
“We are building this product to protect people. What fuels us forward are the stories of people getting real world value from Citizen.” said Andrew Frame, Founder, Citizen.
“Los Angeles is a massive city with extraordinary resources, however, the missing link is the activation and empowerment of everyday people to participate in their own safety.”
Currently in operation in New York City, the San Francisco Bay Area, and most recently Baltimore, Maryland, Citizen has made public safety information available for the first time and is trusted for immediate, real-time updates. Citizen’s opening in Baltimore was the most successful new market activation in company history — with 3% of Baltimore coming online within a couple of weeks.
With the knowledge Citizen provides, every Los Angeles resident now has the power to stay safe, protected, and fully informed.
