Protozoan is an independent, one-woman blog dedicated to the exploration of microbial biodiversity & celebration of scientific transparency. It’s one (and currently only) writer/editor (me!) is passionate about responsible science communication & general enjoyment of the natural sciences. To this end, I strive for all non-opinion based articles to have easily accessible citations and clear explanations of studies that illuminate the scientific process. My goal is not just to understand the life that we know (what it can do and how it got here in the first place), but to fuel discussions about what life we might find on another world. I believe that understanding our diverse, disruptive distant relatives can put our human differences into perspective and that the more we understand the life we share the Earth with, the more keen we will be to preserve it.
