6 months after Psychedelic came to be, we’re bringing you a monthly newsletter for mind-blowing trips across our product ecosystem.

With products like Plug taking off last fall, Sonic joining the family, and Fleek maturing into one of the most reliable hosting platforms across web3, we set out to build the vision for a product studio DAO that would better encompass the scope of our entire product offerings.

A little over 6 months ago, Psychedelic was born to do just that, and today we are excited to bring you the first in a new monthly series where we will be highlighting our latest product updates and milestones.

April has been an action-packed month with new releases across three of our most popular products. Psychedelic’s team of devs and trip advisors successfully launched the Plug iOS Beta app for mobile, a brand new analytics app for Sonic, and the reveal of Jelly, a first-of-its-kind NFT marketplace protocol!

As we dive into each one of them, make sure to check our Discord for a complete Psychedelic experience.

Plug for your Pocket 📱

April 1st marked the successful launch of our Plug mobile beta application for iOS. The app was open to only 10,000 testers and replicated all core functionalities of the browser extension, except for adding custom tokens and connecting to dApps. We’ve committed to addressing these during Q2.

  • Currently, users can hold, send, and view Internet Computer NFTs and Tokens directly in-app, as well as save and use contacts in an address book, view transactions in the activity tab, and log in via FaceID or TouchID.
  • At the beginning of this week, we released the official App Store version but could not include the NFT tab, or any NFT functionalities initially shipped with the Beta app due to restrictions imposed by Apple regarding NFT-related transactions.

Sonic Boom Analytics 💨

Another exciting development was the launch of Sonic’s new Analytics App. The App aggregates and summarizes all DEX activity, unlike in the past when users could only consume history data through their activity tab.

The new App features:

  • Live Liquidity statistics and time-series Volume along with top-level views of the most popular tokens and pools.
  • Pools and Tokens tabs from the Analytics App menu where users can dive into a token or pool specific view of their choice.

As for upcoming features, we are working tirelessly to release Liquidity Bootstrapping Pools (LBPs) for projects to launch new tokens, liquidity pools and trading pairs. We also plan to feature a ‘verified’ status for tokens that are added to DAB and have their code verified through Cover, as well as more fungible token standards through the use of DAB’s standard-agnostic wrappers.

Jelly Reveal 😋

After months of BUIDLing, we were ready to reveal Jelly, the first-of-its-kind permissionless and community-run NFT marketplace protocol. We designed it to allow creators, curators, or collectors to create their own curated marketplaces, connected to the same trustless canister, with interoperable data across all frontends. In layman’s terms, curators will be able to see the same offer databases and the same collections, claiming sales fees only if they power the sale.

The marketplace protocol will roll out in 5 stages, the first one being unveiled later this month. For stage 1 (the Crowns Marketplace) Jelly will be in the single-collection mode and only support the Crowns collection.

How will the protocol work?

  • In the backend, there will be one marketplace protocol canister handling all the listings, offers, and marketplace logic for any collection listed.
  • In the frontend, anyone will be able to create their own “curator-run” marketplaces featuring custom experiences like filtering collections or items, and claim the sales fees. These new frontends, separate from Jelly’s own marketplace UI, will initially be approved by the Jelly protocol in order to ensure a secure set-up.

Learn more about all five stages and the entire set of features in our latest blog.

What’s next?🛣️

The upcoming launch of Sonic’s LBP feature, Jelly’s single-collection mode marketplace, and the latest App Store release of Plug mobile, will only accelerate Psychedelic’s transition to a full-fledged product studio DAO.

That is why our team is currently developing a cross-product governance structure and hammering out new partnerships with projects interested in joining Psychedelic, all to be announced in the second half of this year.

That’s all for today! Come back in June for another Monthly Trip with the latest product roundup and ecosystem highlights.
