Are you a slave to your crockery and utensils?
Before I go into why, I ask this question and why I ask it. I am going to ask another question.
Are you one of those people who rinse your dishes and plates before putting them in the dishwasher?
If you are, can I ask another question?
Why don’t you just wash them up like we used to do in the old days?
However, if you are one of those people, don’t worry. I will not judge you. There is room for everyone in this world.
Back to the question in hand.
Whether you are a rinser or a straight to the dishwasher, you go through the same ritual, I go through.
You lovingly put every plate, dish, cup, plate and utensil in the best place for it to get a hot cleansing wash. You have their best interests in mind.
You then switch on the machine and relax.
Sometime later, when the dishwasher has finished its various cycles.
You open the door and guess what?
All of your crockery and utensil are still there.
They sitting smugly in the place you left them.
They have made no attempt to move themselves to the cupboard or shelves you collected them from.
No. they expect you to do that.
And you do. Knowing that in a few hours you will take out again and go through the whole humiliating routine again.
Our only hope is that AI will develop a robot that will empty our dishwashers for us.
But if the robot can empty the dishwasher and put everything back in its place.
It way as well do the washing up.
Until then, I suppose it is going to be left to me.
Is there no hope?
