Realizing Empathy

I’d like to share with you something I wrote back in 2011.

I thought I was empathizing.

Let’s start from where we left off in part 1.

Over the weekend, I came across the latest Dove commercial. It was for a campaign called “There are no perfect moms, only real ones.”

One of the most difficult parts of writing my book has been to come to a resolution on what empathy is.

It took me about twenty five years before I started to perceive my mother as a human being.
