We are what we repeatedly do. I’m re-inventing myself by improving in 15 areas at a time.

This post is part of my Re Human project.

Daily Habits

Books: Today I finished Never Split the Difference. Started a Joe Rogan podcast; the most recent one with Jack Dorsey. Some notes from today:

Getting them to say no makes the speaker feel safe, secure, and in control. (Good).

Get them to say “that’s right”. Not “you’re right”.

To get “that’s right”, summarize what they said and reaffirm their emotions.

The most powerful word: the F word, Fair. Be aware of it and use it.

Find black swans (unknown unknowns) that are a game changer for negotiation.

Also going to explore my Kindle books for some time — right after I post this.

Meditation: did 15minutes in the morning and 10minutes in the afternoon.

Digital Drawing: Today I learned from two videos on the Udemy character drawing course:

how to draw noses
and theory on drawing mouth and lips

Piano: Today I finally played the full left-hand accompaniment here (but still not “magestically”):

Re Human Extended Activity: On Wednesdays, I’m a Salsa Dancer.

Today I experimented by going to a new location for my Salsa class. I grabbed dinner with a friend on Sunday and we were both so surprised that we both go to Salsa classes on Wednesday, in the same neighborhood (The Mission) in SF. Turns out there’s another place apart from the one I go to — this one is a Senegal restaurant/bar (Bissap Baobab) that has Salsa classes on Wednesdays.

was less of a serious class, more of a cool ambiance place

Writing: This post, journaling, brainstorms, and copy for my startup.

Fitness: Today I mainly trained legs. Also practiced human flag and handstands.

Soccer trick juggling: Today I got two hop the worlds then two around the worlds without the ball falling in between!

Random Surprise

One of my favorite resources to learn to create awesome User Onboarding experiences (and learn from bad ones):

The teardowns are hilarious and insightful. For an example of a good one, check Slack’s. For an example of a bad one, check Apple Music.
