We are what we repeatedly do. I’m re-inventing myself by improving in 15 areas at a time.

This post is part of my Re Human project.

Daily Habits

Books: Today I started Pale Blue Dot by Carl Sagan. Also read a book I started on my Kindle yesterday — The Motivation Hacker. Some notes from today:

Humans are explorers. We have an itch for things remote.

Where are the cartographers of human purpose?

Meditation: also did 15minutes in the morning and 10minutes in the afternoon.

Digital Drawing: Today I learned from the Udemy character drawing course, putting facial features together:

Piano: Today I kept practicing the left-hand accompaniment from this video:

Re Human Extended Activity: On Wednesdays, I’m a Music Producer.

I felt like going to Soundcloud for inspiration — hadn’t gone to Soundcloud in a while. I saw that a couple of hours ago Chris Malinchak — one of my all-time favorite producers— released a new EP!

So I spent time analyzing his new songs. And how he varies things in the “Extended Mix” versions.

Then I went to Logic Pro and worked more on the song where I’m using the piano notes from the left-hand accompaniment video. I took advantage of copying and pasting MIDI notes. Wanted to learn how to edit the notes/tempo/etc. so I watched this Youtube video:

Then watched this other video on “How To Write Chords and Melodies Fast in Logic Pro X”, mostly because it started playing right away after I finished that previous one and it had an appealing title.

Writing: This post and journaling. I also straight up Googled “writing advice” and read the top result: a long compilation of Stephen King’s writing advice.

Fitness: Today I trained handstand push ups, handstands, shoulders, and did a Tabata method for jumping squats.

Soccer trick juggling: Today I got four hop the worlds in a row! Also a couple around the worlds.

Random Surprise

A funny quote that resonated from Stephen King’s writing advice article:

“You know what I like? When I go into someone’s house and ask to use the bathroom and see a bunch of books beside the commode. When I see that, I know I’m with my peeps, you know what I’m sayin’? People who read on the toilet, as far as I’m concerned, good people.”
