Re-inventing ourselves has always been the most important skill. I’m re-inventing myself by improving in 15 areas at a time. This post is part of my Re Human project.

Daily Habits

Books: Been listening to The Seventh Sense. A note from today:

You’re not as complex as the average of the things you’re connected to, you’re as complex as the most complex thing you’re connected to.

Also read Drawing from the Right Side of the Brain for a while.

Meditation: 20 minutes in the afternoon.

Re Human Extended Activity: Fridays I am a Graphic Designer.

One of the applications of graphic design I’m most interested in is designing products: websites, apps, useful things. So I brainstormed a bit what I could design, for practice. And I designed this:

I want to make a visualizer of my Spotify playlists, with filters based on vibes and languages.

Writing: This post, code, and a daily thought.

Digital Drawing & Painting:

I was reading Drawing from the Right Side of the Brain, and they recommended doing several “before training” exercises. One of them is drawing a face from memory, so I did that (different from what I had drawn before with looking at a picture of me):

The author also recommended to sign it and date it.

Fitness: Today I trained handstands, human flag (in some basketball poles I found outside), push ups, and triceps. Also played Capture the Flag for over 2 hours so that meant lots of sprints.

Piano: Realized I really need to practice reading sheet music, so I had downloaded an app to practice recognizing notes:

But that felt still too separated from the actual keys in a piano. So I looked up how to practice recognizing sheet notes, and I found this awesome method:

Soccer trick juggling: It’s nice practicing outside. Did a maximum of 2 “around the worlds” in a row.

Random Surprise

A great addition to a capture the flag game that we experimented and loved today:

Each team has a “throwable soft thing” (for us they were boxing gloves). If you throw it and hits someone, regardless of the side of the field (so could be in the attack), the person freezes for 10 seconds. This throwable boxing glove addition was a game changer because you could venture into the other side and you could capture and return flags even with multiple people trying to tag you. Super fun addition to an already super fun game.
