Bridging Conscience and Compassion

Dear Descendant,

Today marks a unique intersection of spiritual reflection and global aspiration as we observe the International Day of Conscience during the holy month of Ramadan. Instituted by the United Nations, the International Day of Conscience seeks to promote a culture of peace with love and conscience, encouraging individuals and nations alike to act with compassion, tolerance, and solidarity. This global initiative underscores the essential role of conscience in fostering peace and understanding across the various life forms that inhabit the planet.

The establishment of this day is a call to humanity, urging us to reflect on our moral obligations and the impact of our actions on both the micro and macro scales. It aligns with the spirit of Ramadan, a time when Muslims worldwide engage in deep self-reflection, heightened awareness of God, and acts of generosity towards those less fortunate.

Islam teaches that conscience is not just an internal compass guiding individual behaviour but a divine trust that compels us to contribute to the welfare of society. As we fast, pray, and reflect this Ramadan, let us also heed the call of the International Day of Conscience. Let it be a reminder that our spiritual journey is interconnected with the global quest for a peaceful, just, and compassionate world. In embracing the values of both observances, we acknowledge our role as agents of change, inspired by our faith and shared human values to act with conscience in all spheres of life.

Ramadan Kareem. May we always be guided by our inner voice that is always true to life.
