Today we’re getting self-referential by using the BlogChat to talk about the BlogChat format. As you may have noticed from our earlier contributions to Medium we have been cropping conversations directly from chats the team (namely Paul Sztajer, Daniel Keogh and Rob Lee) have with each other online and publish them here for you. Here we reflect on that format a little.

First, where it all came from as an idea:

And in the interest of transparency, take a peek into our inbox to see those early emails.

From early days we understood that airing our dirty laundry publicly could hold a lot of potential, but finding the right content would be the trick. Is it working? Or is it just us publishing meetings no one really wants to be in?

One of the few time meetings are interesting to eavesdrop on are when they turn into screaming matches. As a voyeur this could be quite entertaining, but as an insider your ego is on the line and you might not look your best. How do the team feel about publishing us at our ugliest?

There’s your cliffhanger! What were they arguing about? How long will Rob edit that email before sending? And who is Frankie’s real father? Find out next time…

In all seriousness though, we’d love to hear your thoughts on the format. Leave a comment to tell us your thoughts on what’s working, what’s not and how much of jerk Daniel sounds like.
