Do you have a cat or dog that likes to sleep in bed with you and your partner? Has that kept you from being able to concentrate on having sex, or do you just ignore your fur baby and get busy like nothing is going on?

According to a study of 1,000 pet owners conducted by PetSmart, 28 percent will handle their sexual business even if their pet is in the room with them, and will allow their furry friend to stay. However, for the rest of respondents, having a pet around really puts a damper on the mood.

In fact, 58 percent of pet owners said that having their pet in the room during sex is distracting. For 63 percent of them, it is so distracting that they have to stop in the middle of the act and 72 percent shut the door before doing the deed to ensure they aren’t interrupted.

How many problems have pets caused for these lovers? Over 30 percent of people in the study said they would actually have more sex if they didn’t have to deal with pet distractions when they’re being intimate.
