If you’re an exhibitionist, you may not care when and where you strip down — the mood could strike if you’re at home with just your partner or out in public for the world to see.

But most of us don’t operate that way. Most of us feel more comfortable with nudity in some scenarios over others and to find out what those scenarios are, Bespoke Surgical asked 3,000 people to rate when they feel most comfortable being naked on a scale of one to ten.

And when are people most at ease with being naked?

It turned out, having sex with the lights off rated highest on average at 8.6. The ratings of other nudity scenarios were:

  • At home alone (7.9)
  • Changing in front of their partner with no sex involved (7.7)
  • Having sex with the lights on (7.2)
  • Having sex in front of a pet (5.4)
  • At a doctor’s appointment (4.6)
  • Changing in front of friends (4.1)
  • Partially nude on the beach (3.8)
  • Skinny dipping with others (3.8)
  • Changing in a locker room (3.6)
  • Sitting in a sauna (3.4)
