The word itself sounds like a parody on slang. It’s the shortest a word can be (if we’re realistic), slang with minimal effort. Like “cool” was in the nineties, or “rad” in the 90s, lit comes from slackers.
This one’s so new it’s not even in the dictionaries. But you hear it distinctly in the speech. “Bruh, you're from Evanston!”
Serious is one of my favorite adjectives. In the figurative sense, it expresses a level of magnitude running perpendicular to its literal sense. “You got some serious catching up to do, Mr. President!”
