The world of open source is growing, expanding, and expansive. There are always new projects coming into being because somebody, or a group of bodies have found a solution to a software problem. I know I will never cover all the great open source tools that are out there. Software these days is definetly a global workplace.
Part of what makes open source software valuable is these tools are often designed with privacy first cooked into their design system. You can self-host the tool all the while keeping your data your own. Also, open source is faster at responding to marketplace needs. And open source can fill a particular niche that a large software company does not or cannot fill. Open source software fills in the gaps.
