I started The Guild to reimagine how changemakers lived — these changemakers work on the front lines of pressing issues such as racial justice, climate change, food insecurity, education, etc. Yet, they lack the support and resources they need to sustain and grow their impact. Lack of affordable housing, affordable real estate for small businesses, and a lack of resources and mentorship are just some of the challenges these changemakers face daily. What would it look like if changemakers were holistically supported so their work could be amplified? And what would it look like if communities had more ownership in how their neighborhoods and cities developed? These are some questions The Guild sets out to address through alternative real estate development models and supplemental services. Space for Change aims to document this journey in building community wealth and tools for the new economy — one that is inclusive, equitable, and regenerative for all.
