Anwar Shabaz-Lopez, founder of Streets Dreams, is a serial entrepreneur who started his first business, The Bassment, a Hip Hop lifestyle shop, when he was 19 years old. He felt the need to create something that would give back and help aspiring entrepreneurs to follow their passions through the arts. He closed the shop in 2013 and opened The Box, an art gallery focused on street and graffiti art culture. A few years later, he combined his passion of art and entrepreneurship and together, Street Dreams Chicago was born. We started this blog because we wanted to live in transparency and let the world know our story. We believe people should see the mistakes we made so they won’t have to make the same ones. This will be a blog about our journey in entrepreneurship and hopefully it will help others make better choices in life and learn from our experience.
