The March Review
March brought spring to SwissBorg in the shape of our sleek looking, easy to use, Community App. A few months in the making, the Community App was conceived by our team as a pre-launch campaign for our showcase upcoming product the SwissBorg Wealth App. A simulation forecasting game where you can predict the price of Bitcoin daily, win rewards, and get priority access to our Wealth App.
Up to now, not even one week into our launch, we have had thousands of downloads by individuals around the globe, wherever the app is available. Our referral program that allows you to win points by referring others is working well in spreading the Community App which warms our heart because it reflects well the name we gave the bitcoin prediction app. We want to use this app to grow our community and raise awareness of the bitcoin market.
It takes a bit of madness to launch a new product, and March certainly brought its share. Our Head of Communications in London, Alex Fazel, announced his vlog series and recorded the first show. A conference was held in London with two very engaging panels to discuss the issues facing the crypto space and announce the launch of our Community app.
As part of our efforts to raise awareness of cryptos, our Data Analyst, Bastien Muster wrote an article explaining Bitcoin in a way that is engaging to both the enthusiast and the novice. Our founder, Cyrus Fazel started a vlogging series shedding light on the nature of DAOs and the many mutations of wealth management from the past into the future. Our CBDO, Chris Diserens and Mariem Farhat attended an event at HEC, their alma mater, where they promoted our Community App, and Chris gave an interview explaining the app.
Looking at the dream of mass adoption and the obstacles that need to be removed to achieve it, our wordsmith (yours truly), wrote an article about the relative lack of women in the blockchain and crypto space.
Our Community Committee has been very active in promoting our App. We are thrilled that our referral program has worked so well so far, we continue to count on you, our community member to help us grow and thrive.
We are very proud of the wonderful new members that joined our team to help with the development of our Wealth App and the growth of SwissBorg ecosystem and community.

Why We Need More Women in Blockchain

At a recent Blockchain conference, a panel of women was at a loss for an answer to the question, how can blockchain help gender equality? The question and the answers, or non-answers the panellist gave, made me, an old ‘analogue’ feminist, realise that there is a dire need to raise awareness of the problem of gender inequality in the blockchain and crypto space.
Women account for only around 5% in the crypto space and/or market. Oct. 2017, a survey conducted by Reddit user loveYouEth, found that 96% of Ether users are men, and MyEtherWallet reported that 84% of their wallet holders were male. So the need to raise our numbers is necessary not just for women but for the space as a whole. To do so, we have to start with some old-fashioned networking and gathering. Strength is in numbers and only when we come together can we be counted.
What is even more concerning is the lack of a grasp of the history of gender equality among some of the young women most impacted by these very inequalities. For example, not many people, I canvassed, know that the world’s first computer programmer was a woman, Ada Lovelace, who wrote the world’s first complex computer program in 1843. Making the space more aware of women’s history in general and women’s achievements in the field, in particular, will help raise awareness which is essential to mass adoption. Read more here.

London Blockchain Unchained App Launch
We announced the launch of our Community App at our London meetup where we welcomed around 100 attendees and held two engaging panels on the subject of blockchain and cryptos. One was an all-women panel, “SuperWomen in Blockchain” discussing the experiences of female influencers and professionals in the field and the other was dedicated to the topic of the place of cryptos in the next financial crisis. Industry notables such as Veronica M., Andrew Robinson, Julianne Sloane, Stephen Kelso, Lisa Short Erica Stanford Vlad Tregubov and Sanja Kon joined Cyrus and Alex for a great evening of sharing ideas and networking.
