May was a busy month of networking and content creation at SwissBorg. While our team of engineers is working hard on our upcoming Wealth app, we continue spreading the news of our Community app that acts as an educational and fun pre-launch product.

Our data analysis team, headed by Bastien Muster produced the Community app monthly report giving us a glimpse of the makeup and habits of our community of game players spread across the globe. Tom Suter, the newest addition to our data team, wrote an article explaining how to use the Cyborg Predictor one of the main features on our app. Our top two mobile team engineers attended Switzerland App Builders conference that we helped sponsor to get exposure and boost the broader community.

Cyrus Fazel, our founder, continued his Cyrus Chronicles on youtube and held a live AMA (ask me anything) where he answered in detail all the questions posed by our community. We are in the process of implementing a DAO system to improve our use of the input & feedback of our devoted Community Committee members. Our CBDO, Chris Diserens, has put together a support team and is busy developing the help centre, which acts as our online knowledge centre, in anticipation of the Wealth app launch.

Alex Fazel, our head of communications, launched his eagerly awaited Cryptonites Youtube Series Premiere with the famed Glen Goodman, who shared his trading wisdom. The series aims to take a non-biased and in-depth look at the crypto and blockchain market that is community-centric and allows the community to help curate the show. Our head of communication also penned an article on the who’s who of crypto space and why there is such a gulf between those who support and those who fail to believe in this market.

Jayne Kim, our Korea PR & Business Development Manager, took our Asia team on a road trip to Korea where our head of Asia, Ken Yagami gave a long two-hour interview to a Korean Youtuber with a massive following. The promise of further growth & collaboration in Korea gives us hope for a sustainable future in Asia.

In Switzerland, we continued with our meetup outreach. We held meetups and talks at the EHL in Lausanne, in Zurich; and have one coming up next week in Lausanne.

We are more than 20 people in the engineering team now. To increase the speed of hiring, we are switching to a distributed team model.

The SwissBorg mobile team attended AppBuilders Switzerland, one of the biggest European mobile technologies conferences. For two days, we had the opportunity to learn about the latest technologies, get inspired and meet people from all over the world to grow our network in the mobile community. SwissBorg was one of the sponsors of the conference, and in this way, we had the possibility to contribute in making this conference possible, as well as, contribute to the mobile community besides letting people know the cool products we are building.

Community App Report

More than 14’000 players have already joined our Community App Bitcoin Forecast Competition, and there are more exciting times ahead! After a month and a half, we are pleased to announce that the first players are entering the Community app Hall-of-Fame, having won all of the other badges. More than 75% of you have already earned at least one badge.

In addition to sharing key statistics and providing a zoom on the performance of specific types of players, we will give you, every month, an update on your chances of receiving rewards. We pay special attention to ensure that new players are rewarded if they are good forecasters.

Monthly Bitcoin Analysis (29.05.2019)

After this parabolic surge and gains on Bitcoin of more than 100% since the beginning of the year, we can expect a correction at some point. The level to watch is $9’000, the current resistance. If the price can easily cross this level, the bullish momentum will probably continue to rise to $10’000. At the moment, positive news such as the validation of the anticipated bitcoin ETFs and the growing interest of retail investors (the FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) effect) could skyrocket the price.

Otherwise, if the momentum weakens, we can expect profits to be taken and a correction to bring the price below $8'000. A period of stabilisation will come at a time when it will be very likely to see the altcoins recover compared to bitcoin. The awaited “altcoin seasons”.

After a period of consolidation at the end of April, the price of bitcoin literally exploded. May was a parabolic month.
Most technical analysts predicted a high resistance between $6’000 and $6’500 that could be unbreakable with a high probability that this resistance would cause a significant correction.
However, against all expectations, these levels were broken extremely quickly with a buying pressure similar to that observed at the end of 2017.
Despite the binance hack (7000 BTC stolen) and the postponement of the SEC’s decision on bitcoin ETFs, nothing stopped the bullish momentum. After a healthy two-week consolidation around $8’000, the price exploded again to test the $9’000 level.
In terms of technical indicators, the RSI has never been so high (weekly) since the end of 2017, the price is far from its average, and the momentum is extremely bullish. At the same time, google research related to Bitcoin is increasing sharply.
With this strong bullish momentum driven by a renewed positive sentiment, the entire market gained more than $100 billion in May (+60%). The bull market is back.

What could we expect for the future?

South Korean Trip

Our Korean PR and Business Development Manager, Jayne Kim, Amber Chook, our Asia PR manager, and Ken Yagami, our head of Asia, headed to Seoul to expand our reach there. Ken gave a colossal two-hour interview with Korean crypto Youtuber, Mumyeong Ssam. With a 10k following, Ssam’s Youtube channel educates crypto newbies & presents a daily bitcoin analysis. The famous Korean Youtuber started his channel to educate crypto newbies in January 2018 with a daily market analysis and an inspiring mission of raising financial literacy and protecting investors from scams. This was his first offline interview & there were 30 loyal followers on site to show us support! We look forward to partnering with him again in July for the SB Campus meetup in Seoul. Bastien Muster, our data analyst, will discuss the fluctuations of the Ethereum market. Mike Kalomeni will examine Ethereum use cases. Cyrus Fazel, our CEO, will answer the universal question: is Bitcoin here to stay? Virginie Pache will explore how to use technology to crowd-fund for education.
