We are excited to announce that SyncNode is joining Chainlink as a node operator. As of today, our Chainlink node will be working together with other node operators to bridge blockchain and off-chain infrastructure, providing smart contracts with reliable data feeds including digital asset exchange rates and traditional market data.

SyncNode will begin by contributing to Chainlink’s Price Reference Data Contracts, which provides reliable price data to over 21 live DeFi applications on the Ethereum mainnet.

Who Is SyncNode

SyncNode is a Romanian based software development company, with experience in building telecommunications infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions.

We have worked with clients all around the world, including IBM, Rexel, and Alstom, and we support our vision of raising awareness for computing security and data integrity. SyncNode’s validator services run on a number of networks and we have demonstrable experience in building and maintaining server infrastructure to provide maximum uptime for our clients.

SyncNode will use this experience to build a reliable and trusted node for the Chainlink decentralized oracle network, which will be operated to the same standards that our other validating services adhere to.

How Does Chainlink Solve The Oracle Problem

Most decentralized applications require access to off-chain data to function, such as DeFi Dapps that need financial market data. The challenge is generating accurate data and delivering it to the smart contract in a manner that’s as reliable and tamperproof as the underlying blockchain. This embodies the technical challenge known as “the oracle problem.”

Chainlink is a decentralized oracle network that allows developers to bring decentralization to both the node operator and data source level. Chainlink has a large decentralized network of independent, geographically distributed, and security-reviewed node operators, which can be aggregated together to ensure one node operator is not a single point of failure in the oracle mechanism. It also uses modular external adapters to allow node operators to source data from premium/password-protected APIs. Each high-quality data point can then be aggregated to bring redundant validation to the data triggering smart contracts.

Why Is SyncNode Joining The Chainlink Ecosystem

As a software company with more than a decade of development and almost two years of validator experience, SyncNode already provides highly trusted staking services for a number of blockchain projects, having committed fully to the blockchain space in 2017.

The SyncNode team has been following Chainlink from its early development, witnessing a vibrant and optimistic community grow around the project — both through the expertise of the Chainlink team and through the solid concept behind the project. We personally believe that decentralized oracles will become one of the most important aspects of smart contract development, especially with the DeFi movement gaining traction and smart contracts becoming a recognized tool for negotiating and settling value on the blockchain.

George Bunea, founder of SyncNode, shared:

Chainlink has grown rapidly during the last few years, becoming the most promising and trusted decentralized oracle network. This progress made our decision to become a Chainlink node operator an easy one, and we gladly jumped in when the right time came. Naturally, we believe that the Chainlink protocol has the potential to become the global standard in providing oracle solutions between blockchains and off-chain infrastructure.”

About Syncnode

We provide highly available and secure infrastructure for staking digital assets on our validating and working nodes. We always ensure top security standards by mixing our own servers with bare metal and virtual servers from reliable public cloud providers across different regions and by periodically running external security audits.

Also, SyncNodeis one of the few validators in the space that has a partnership with one of the top cybersecurity companies (details can be seen here). Downtime is not an option for us and we ensure a near-perfect uptime score on all the chains where we run validators and nodes, by putting together a professional monitoring and alerting system and 24x7 on-call engineer support. We are prepared for worst-case scenarios with a hot standby infrastructure, disaster recovery procedure, and corporate security guidelines that can be shared from case to case after an NDA is signed (for security purposes we can’t make all the data public).

About Chainlink

Chainlink is a decentralized oracle network that enables smart contracts to securely access off-chain data feeds, web APIs, and traditional bank payments. It is well known for providing highly secure and reliable oracles to large enterprises (Google, Oracle, and SWIFT) and leading smart contract development teams such as Polkadot/Substrate, Synthetix, Loopring, Aave, OpenLaw, Conflux, and many others.

If you’re a developer and want to connect your smart contract to existing data and infrastructure outside the underlying blockchain, reach out to them here!
