The Asian Edge aims to bridge the technology ecosystems within Asia and the US. Having grown up in India, I saw the impact that apps like Facebook, Whatsapp and Instagram had on the lives of common people, particularly women who were able to run small businesses staying at home through these apps. This led to my interest in media and technologies that were coming from the US. After high school, I moved to Hong Kong for university where I studied finance while also spending a lot of time travelling, to understand different cultures. After travelling to 20 countries before turning 20, I wanted to work at a job that would combine all my interests. My first job was at a market launcher that brought companies from the US like Airbnb, Uber and WeWork to China and Asia. Here, I worked on scaling multi-million dollar startups from scratch and learnt about the opportunities that Asia has in the industry. I then moved to venture capital working at a global fund to be at the intersection of media, technology, finance and culture.
