Holy Hormones Bible Study: Teaching — If your book isn’t a buzz, it’s not the Bible.

THE BIBLE’S SACREDNESS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE LUDICROUS SUGGESTION THAT IT WAS WRITTEN BY A DEITY? Part 2.

If you are breathing, you still have time to change your mind.

Prelude: This post is intended to be a seamless addition to Part 1 of the same title. Just carry on reading.
If you have not read Part 1, you will lack vital information. Something like reading the New Testament without studying the Old Testament.

Equidistant Letter Sequence (ELS) patterns in Esther NOT related to Nuremberg

The silence on some key issues in the Book of Esther is intriguing.

• No mention of the Name of God,
• No mention of worship or faith,
• No mention of the Messiah,
• No mention of anything “religious” at all.

These are some of the major reasons for arguing for its exclusion from the Cannon — especially that there is no mention of the Living God at all. But is this the true state of affairs? There is subtle evidence which offers a hint that He is brooding over His Chosen Ones. The episode of Xerxes trying to cure his insomnia by reading old books, on just the correct night, being just one example.

To appreciate the situation, it is necessary to know the general state of play for the Sons of Jacob at the time of Esther.

A brief background on the dispersion of God’s People at that time

The elite of Judea had been taken to Babylon and only a remnant returned (recorded in Ezra 2).

The Book of Esther, which occurred in that general time, shows that Jews had spread throughout over one hundred and twenty-seven provinces, from India to Ethiopia (Esther 1:1). They had well and truly settled-in.[Footnote 1] Not only that, but it is also written in Ezra 9:1–2 that many of the elite who did return defiled themselves with the surrounding pagans.

The people of Israel, including the priests and the Levites, have not kept themselves separate from the neighbouring peoples with their detestable practices, like those of the Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Jebusites, Ammonites, Moabites, Egyptians and Amorites. They have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and their sons and have mingled the holy race with the peoples around them. And the leaders and officials have led the way in this unfaithfulness.

So, it is postulated, with some trepidation, that Sons of Israel did not return by their own volition at that time and were in disobedience, acting like the Sons of Jacob rather than Sons of Israel. In addition it is postulated, with even more trepidation, that the reason YHVH is “something hidden” in the Book of Esther is that He could not overtly protect His People because they were in disobedience — but He took compassion on them and, more importantly, had made Promises to the world via them. The implication in Mordechai’s conversations with Esther in Chapter 4 is that, one way or another, HaShem would rescue His People.

So where is God?

According to the Rabbinical website, Chabad.org the root word of Esther in Hebrew is hester, meaning “hidden.” Judaism leans toward the interpretation of this being Queen Esther personified the wife of valour (in English generally referred to as the virtuous wife) in the sense of all forms of excellence. The translations of expositions that I’ve read, from Jewish sages, have the flavour that her virtuous nature is what attracted Xerxes (Achashverosh or Ahasuerus in Hebrew); not her drop-dead gorgeous looks.

It is not difficult to see the potential for such a connection because of the difference between the Greek and Hebrew concepts of beauty. Greek thought pattern (western world) sees beautiful is good; Hebrew thought pattern sees good is beautiful.

But is there evidence that the truth is more than just skin deep?

Is there evidence that Someone is brooding over the darkness? Someone visible only to those who will see Him. Decide for yourself. The following section is an extract from the teaching, Cosmic Codes: Hidden Messages from the Edge of Eternity Volume 2: Microcodes, Chuck Missler, © 1998 Koinonia House Inc. He has done the heavy lifting. I only do the counting and verify the translation, using on-line websites in both cases.

Methodology: In each of the exercises below, the bold case signifies the portion of the English text being translated into Hebrew then being analysed, then translated back into Hebrew.)

  • It is written in Esther 1:3

In the third year of his reign, he made a feast unto all his princes and his servants; the power of Persia and Media, the nobles and princes of the provinces, being before him:

An ELS spacing of 8 to the Hebrew results in the pattern for Messiah, translated in Figure ‎1: Google translation of משיח (Messiah), below.

בשנת שלוש למלכו עשה משתה לכל־שריו ועבדיו חיל פרס ומדי הפרתמים ושרי המדינות לפניו׃

Figure ‎1: Google translation of משיח (Messiah)
  • It is written in Esther 4:2–3

And came even before the king’s gate: for none might enter into the king’s gate clothed with sackcloth. And in every province, whithersoever the king’s commandment and his decree came, there was great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing, and many lay in sackcloth and ashes.

An ELS spacing of 8 to the Hebrew results in the pattern for El Shaddai, The Almighty, translated in Figure ‎2: Google translation of אלשדי (El Shaddai), below.

ויבוא עד לפני שער־המלך כי אין לבוא אל־שער המלך בלבוש שק׃ ובכל־מדינה ומדינה מקום אשר

ELS patterns elsewhere in the Book of Esther

  • It is written in Esther 4:17

So Mordecai went his way and did according to all that Esther had commanded him.

An ELS spacing of -8 to the Hebrew results in the pattern for Yeshua, running left-to-right, translated in Figure ‎3: Google translation of ישוע (Yeshua).

Another type of code in the Book of Esther

The Acrostic

Another type of pattern, for those who subscribe to the principle codes in the Bible, is the Acrostic — a composition in which sets of letters (such as the initial or final letters of the lines or words) taken in order form a word or phrase or a regular sequence of letters of the alphabet. Examples of these in the Tanakh are Psalms 25; 34; 37; 111; 119; 145; Proverbs 31:10–31, and Lamentations 1–4.

An extremely important one is written in John 19:19–22

19 Now Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross. And the writing was:
JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
20 Then many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin.
21 Therefore the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, “Do not write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but, ‘He said, “I am the King of the Jews.” ’ ”
22 Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”

The Chief Priests and the Jews were perplexed because they were well versed with acrostics. The Hebrew for JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS is, and translated in Figure ‎4: Google translation of Pilate’s Acrostic

ישוע הנצרי ומלך היהודים

Figure ‎4: Google translation of Pilate’s Acrostic

The acrostic is YHVH, as shown here.

ישוע הנצרי ומלך היהודים

Pilate was publicly declaring that Jesus was Yehovah, yod-hey-vav-hey.[2]

Acrostics in the Book of Esther

Note: The Hebrew for this part of the exercise is sourced from Blue Letter Bible which separates the Hebrew into individual words as opposed to the usual practice of having no word spacing. Obviously, this helps those of us who are illiterate in Hebrew.

  • It is written in Esther 1:20

And when the king’s decree which he shall make shall be published throughout all his empire, (for it is great,) all the wives shall give to their husbands honour, both to great and small

ונשמע פתגם המלך אשר־יעשה בכל־מלכותו כי רבה היא וכל־הנשים יתנו יקר לבעליהן למגדול ועד־קטן׃

The acrostic is the initial letters of the words which spells out YHVH, Yehovah, in reverse.

  • It is written in Esther 5:13

Yet all this avails me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king’s gate

וכל־זה איננו שוה לי בכל־עת אשר אני ראה את־מרדכי היהודי יושב בשער המלך׃

The acrostic is the final letters of the words which spells out YHVH, Yehovah, in reverse.

  • It is written in Esther 5:4

And Esther answered, If it seem good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him.

ותאמר אסתר אם־על־המלך טוב יבוא המלך והמן היום אל־המשתה אשר־עשיתי לו

The acrostic is the initial letters of the words which spell out YHVH, Yehovah, running forward.

It is written in Esther 7:7

And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king

והמלך קם בחמתו ממשתה היין אל־גנת הביתן והמן עמד לבקש על־נפשו מאסתר המלכה כי ראה כי־כלתה אליו הרעה מאת המלך׃

The acrostic is the final letters of the words which spell out YHVH, Yehovah, running backward.

It is written in Esther 7:5.

Then the king Ahasuerus answered and said unto Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so?

ויאמר המלך אחשורוש ויאמר לאסתר המלכה מי הוא זה ואי־זה הוא אשר־מלאו לבו לעשות כן׃

The acrostic is in the final letters of the words which spell out, I WILL BE (a.k.a. I AM), left-to-right as translated in Figure ‎5: Google translation of אהיה (I WILL BE/I AM)

Figure ‎5: Google translation of אהיה (I WILL BE/I AM)

Was the Holy Spirit brooding over the darkness threatening the Sons of Jacob at that time?

It seems that we are reading the same book so it is up to you to decide if this is credible evidence that the sacredness is not ludicrous.

It would be surprising if someone didn’t come up with the furphy that the ELS is applicable to English so an additional article will soon be posted to examine the technicalities of that puerile logic.

Is the Holy Spirit brooding over the darkness threatening the Sons of Jacob now?

If you read these articles below, and didn’t hear the music, perhaps it’s because you didn’t want to hear. After all, it is unbelievable — depending on whom you believe.

Do I expect to convince the naysayers?

The same argument as in Part 1 applies.

The late English Thinker about thinking, Tony Buzan, concluded,

“If you come to a point where the thinking becomes so strenuous that you know there is more but you just give up and say, ‘It must be,’ it means you have come to the end of your interest or your imagination.”

It is written that Yehovah says, “If you seek Me with all your heart, you will find Me.” If you maintain your interest, He will Inspire your imagination. So, we can now add, afraid to think any further, to Tony’s list.

But there is more purpose to these articles than the naysayers.

I’m not normally into comparing (sic)wise sayings of mortals with God’s Intellect. But the English poet, William Blake, describes, very well, what I am trying to do.

When I tell the truth, it is not for the sake of convincing those who do not know it, but for the sake of defending those that do.

Footnotes:

[1] History shows a significant Jewish presence in that part of the world (outside the Beautiful Land) until they were forced out of their homes by the Arab League Nations in 1948 when about 850 thousand Jewish refugees were absorbed by about 720 thousand Jews in the newly formed State of Israel, while several hundred million Muslims chose not to absorb 150 thousand Muslims going the other way. But that is another story.
