Australian Greens

I probably don’t need to tell you a huge amount about the Greens, given that they are the 3rd largest party in parliament and the most prominent left wing voice in Australian politics.

But things are slightly falling apart for the Greens, with a massive rift appearing in the NSW Greens, between the socialist Watermelons (Green on the outside, red on the inside), and the more environmentally focused Tree Tories (only “conservative” compared to the other faction tbh), which has even lead to sitting politicians leaving the party to sit as independents.

Policy

Most of the Greens policy doesn’t come as a surprise. Obviously, they want more renewables. They want greater environmental protections. They think we should treat asylum seekers and Indigenous people better. And they also want a federal anti-corruption body, which given the current state of our politicians, is probably a good idea.

And if you’re worried about how they would pay for everything, they even have a policy for that.

Vote for them if

You like watermelons or trees BUT NOT BOTH.
