Child Protection Party

A party all about protecting children. I know, you probably though this party was about something entirely different, but at least you know now.

This party is a bit of a wild card, with not really a huge amount of information about them online, but they did manage to get 1.5% of the vote in the SA state election last year, which is surprisingly high for a microparty like this.

But a party with a pretty decent issue to stand behind, and with no obvious red flags? That’s definitely tolerable.

Policy

Just a lot of stuff about how they want to go about better protecting children. They want changes to Child Welfare Hearings so they don’t happen in the courts, changes to adoption, foster care, and better education around abuse in schools.

They also have some solid policy around Indigenous children which actually wants to listen to their cultural needs and not just paternalisticly tell them what to do, as well as justifying policy like renewable energy by talking about children’s futures.

Honestly no real surprises, and most of it seems pretty well suited to reach their aims.
