Science Party

--

A party who’s focus is, unsurprisingly, science.

I didn’t think I’d be able to get a Bill Nye gif anywhere in these profiles but here we are

Honestly, I don’t have much to tell you beyond that. Their leadership team has a fair number of doctors in it (both the medical and PhD kind), and while a lot of their policy is very progressive, they’re a little too fond of capitalism to be labelled left wing.

But being into science, having one of the coolest logos of all the political parties, and not appearing to have done anything awful (that I could find) is always going to be tolerable in my book.

Policy

Most of their policy is pretty reasonable and heavily based in science and evidence. They want more renewables and updates to the electricity grid, multiple changes to our system of government from decreasing corruption to becoming a republic, a treaty with Indigenous Australians, and greater funding for science and research (obviously), among others.

However, some of their policy definitely seems a little bit too much like mad science. Like creating an entire new city between Sydney and Canberra called Turing, and creating an Australian space agency.

But having Professor Frink-types running the country will clearly be sooo much worse than the people currently in power, obviously.

Frink gets it

Vote for them if

You fucking love science.
