The Arts Party

Do you like the arts? Do you think artists make good political representatives? Well boy, do we have the party for you.

If Bob Ross was a candidate these guys would win for sure.

The arts party only cares about one thing — the arts. That should not be a surprise. And while I can’t find much information about the party beyond that they wrote a haiku to get people to vote for them last election, or that they used crowdfunding to even be able to run at all, they have a very aesthetic logo so they must be tolerable right?

Right?

Policy

Very focused on the arts and increasing funding. Specifically, they want an expansion of digital arts such as video game creation in Australia, more art in our education system, and an overall tripling of the federal spending on art.

They do have some policy on how they would fund it all, but interestingly in that document, they also call for the legalisation of cannabis, which is clearly unrelated because there’s obviously no link between smoking weed and art.

Now that’s what I call high art. Get it? Get it!?! I don’t think you’re getting it.
