The Women’s Party
A party solely focused on getting Australia to a point where memes like this aren’t needed anymore.
This is one of the newest parties in Australia, having only being registered in February, so there isn’t much information available out them at all. But any party which stands for gender equality, especially in the sausage-fest that is Australian politics, is more likely than not going to be a bad thing.
And in a move that I’m sure will anger some conservative man-babies, I’ll be labelling the feminist party tolerable. And if you have a problem with that you can fuck right off.
Policy
Like most very small parties, the policy is quite light on, but it’s enough to give you a pretty good idea of what they actually want to achieve and how.
Things like equal representation in parliament through a quota system (where they talk about the “self-aggrandisement of men” which is beautifully savage), various women’s rights, as well as policy around Indigenous Australians and political corruption.
And sure, it would be nice if they had a little more on other areas, but fighting the patriarchy isn’t an easy job and it’s probably a good idea to focus their energy on that.
