IF YOU WANT SOMETHING IN LIFE….?
What are you ready to do?
An upstart. Incorrigible. Absolutely uncontrollable.
Terms used to call Maddy.
A man after his own heart. An opinion about everything and not one iota of hesitancy to voice it. Maddy announces what he wants to do. And goes ahead and does it.
When he fails, and he fails often, the rest of the world laughs at him.
He laughs back. LOUD.
This surprises the many who immediately term him arrogant.
“He just wouldn’t listen. He would not conform. Let us not include them in our team, in our initiative!”
(We know this feeling. We have voiced similar comments in our lives. Only to have them thrown back at us through actions that define craziness.)
One of the “gang” approached Maddy and asked him why.
X: Why? Why don’t you align with the rest of us? What’s stopping you? You realize we are the norm. This is the way. The way it’s always been done. Why are you so intent on rocking the boat?
X: WHY?
Maddy: Because my path is different! I know it. I know what I want. I do what it takes to get there. If that means going well against the norm, so be it.
X: But you will fail.
Maddy: Yes, I am ready for it.
X: And the world will laugh at you.
Maddy: I will thank the world for the encouragement and use that as fuel to drive me more.
X: Huh.
Maddy: If you don’t get it, you don’t get it.
X: Please explain.
Maddy:
If you want something in life, reach out and grab it.*
Do not sit around waiting for an opportunity to be handed on a platter.
If that means being labelled an outcast, an outlier, so be it.
Therein lies my fuel, my path, my success.
To be me.
And working towards reaching out and getting what I want.
The rest of the world can keep watching!
